DATE: Victorian, 1859

A cool antique double locket dating from 1859. It's hinged on both sides, meaning that both the front and back can open independently of one another - quite an unusual feature. The front is intricately hand-chased with a black enamel cross motif, while the back has carved with a banner and the year 1859. The names that were originally carved onto the banner have been erased... who knows why? It's crafted in 15 karat gold, particularly good quality, and remains in great condition.
